The development of FET Mathematics started in 2019, a time when data prices were not so affordable in South Africa especially for those in the rural areas.

Based on the experience of our senior developer from the rural parts of North West, many high school learners who had smartphones spent most of the time without data and many relied on sharing installation .apk files using apps like SHAREit.

This was part of the reason why FET Mathematics was developed to be used offline and the installation file to be as small as possible.

While things are getting better in terms of data affordability and internet access, the situation in the rural parts of South Africa is not progressing at the same rate as in the urban areas and better developed regions.

Depending on user feedback, we might consider a version to be released on the Play Store in the future. If however you are still in doubt about the security of the .apk installation file, be stress-free and don't install it.
